You should try to drink about 7-8 large glasses of water per day. Your body will hold fluid, if you don’t drink enough. Every pound has 3500 calories, or energy in it. So for example, if you burn, or use, 350 calories more each day, than you consume, for 10 days, you will lose a pound. You can’t lose 2-3 pounds a day, for more than about a day, without gaining it right back. Your body will go on alert and stop burning calories and make your appetite soar. Your body’s water level changes, so you can’t always trust the scale. For me, there are times in my monthly cycle when I am retaining 4 pounds of water, so don’t get discouraged. If you want to weigh 145, which is slender for a 5’9″ girl, eat about 1800 calories a day. It sounds like a lot, but you will lose weight quickly, and keep your energy up. You can stick with it and the weight will come off before you know it. The weight will stay off, because that is about the right amount of calories, to maintain that weight. So, write down your eating plan for each week. Eat healthy good food. Buy the foods ahead of time, so they are always available. For me, fruits and vegetables and low-cal dressing and tuna and eggs and cheese and yogurt and peanut butter and whole grain bread are the main things. I’d eat them slowly and have a diet soda, each afternoon. My late snack was an apple with string cheese, or with a teaspoon of peanut butter. My mid-morning snack was one or 2 pieces of fruit, like peaches. My 3 meals were simple combinations of the above foods that I mentioned. Add exercise and you will be slim really fast, and healthy too. You are probably averaging about 2500 calories a day, at your weight. So, you just need to average about 700 calories less a day, Good luck!
